Uniting Communities is embarking on an exciting major city redevelopment to improve its property in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD. By redeveloping the existing site, we can better tailor the building to meet the greatest needs of those in the Adelaide community who seek our services.
The $80 million project will create a 20-storey, mixed-use building, bringing together Uniting Communities’ extensive service offering and specialist disability long-term rental, short-term respite accommodation, unique U City retirement living, and commercial and retail spaces.
The new building will offer space for worship and church activities, as well as a new home for services including Lifeline Adelaide, personal and family counselling and youth health programs. An innovative new youth employment enterprise and creative community art installations will also feature.
The project complements a broader commitment from the State Government and Adelaide City Council to upgrade the adjacent Her Majesty’s Theatre and develop a network of connected lane ways – including Pitt St – linking Adelaide’s riverbank to the Central Market.
