Established in 1995, Bfriend offers mentoring, support, information and referral for people coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex or queer (LGBTIQ), and their families.
Bfriend supports men and women of all ages in South Australia who are newly identifying as same sex-attracted and people who are questioning their gender identity.
The support Bfriend provides includes matching people, on a short-term basis, with a trained peer volunteer; facilitating groups with other newly-identifying people; workshops and training for service providers; and information and referrals.
Bfriend also operates the Adelaide LGBTIQ events calendar.
To be eligible for this program a person must be in the process of coming out, have recently come out, or wants to come out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex or queer (LGBTIQ) – or a family member of someone working through this.
Information is available for anyone from the general community.
This service is free of charge.
