Our purpose
Uniting Communities has a long history of systemic advocacy since 1901.
We utilise the expertise of our services to advocate for systems change across diverse social justice issues to shape public and social policy that delivers better outcomes for marginalised communities.
We help those in need find the courage to move forward through enriching their lives and uniting the communities in which they live. By tackling the deep-seated challenges that affect people’s lives, we are working to create systemic change and brighter futures for all South Australians.
Our advocacy feeds into the services we provide, ensuring we hear and represent people’s concerns in public policy debates.
Topic areas
We work across a range of topics including but not limited to:
Child Protection
Family and Domestic Violence
Mental Health
Overcoming Loneliness
Housing and Homelessness (including rental reform)
Alcohol and other Drugs
Submissions
One of the ways we advocate is through the development of parliamentary and departmental submissions across the state and federal level.
Overcoming loneliness
Uniting Communities has committed to action to help South Australians to overcome loneliness.
