Keeping it 'green'
We are the first registered charity in Australia to be certified carbon neutral. And we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint. U City is recognised as one of Australia’s ‘greenest’ buildings and has achieved 6-Star Green Star Design and As Built Ratings. It is predicted to use 45 per cent less energy and 30 per cent less water than a comparable new building.
The project complements a broader commitment from the State Government and Adelaide City Council; developing a network of connected lane ways. This includes Pitt St and linking Adelaide’s riverbank to the Central Market.
