safeTALK is an alertness workshop that will prepare participants to recognise the words, actions and signs of people who may be having trouble coping with crisis or emotional pain. Participants will be prepared to take action to connect vulnerable people with life-saving intervention resources. Since its development in 2006, safeTALK has been used in over 20 countries around the world.
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
• move beyond common tendencies to miss, dismiss or avoid suicide
• identify people who have thoughts of suicide
• apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe) to connect a person with thoughts of suicide to a suicide first-aid intervention caregiver.
Who should attend?
Employees who might be exposed to people having thoughts of suicide. 18 years+.
