Positive Life SA – Friday lunches

Positive Life will no longer be holding its Friday lunches. We have heard Glandore Community Centre will be holding them instead, but check with the centre just to make sure.

Everyone Has a Story – gay men from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds tell their stories online

Both writing your own stories and reading other people’s stories can be empowering. When you write, you embark on a journey of exploration. When you read, you gain inspiration for your own life.

Read some of these stories.

If you’d like to share a short story of yours with a hope to inspire others on being positive in the face of a particular challenge of either studying or living in South Australia, please email the project coordinator.

Participants wanted for photography project

You might know Robert Knapman’s work from Blaze and other LGBTIQ media outlets. He is working on a new photography project called ‘Behind the Scene(s)’ and wants your help. This project may be part of an exhibition during Feast.

“’Behind the Scene(s)’ is looking at the contemporary lives of LGBTIQ people in Adelaide. I want to create a series of black & white images exploring, documenting, validating and celebrating us by showcasing people’s richly resilient lives. I think this is particularly important in the current climate of political attention on our lives (Safe Schools Coalition, marriage equality etc.) In other words we are not what some media, politicians and religious groups say we are. I would love to include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people who have found asylum/refuge in SA, children of LGBTIQ parents, drag queens and other performers and other members of the LGBTIQ community here in SA.”

If you’re interested in participating in this project please contact Robert at one of the methods provided.
