We are part of a coalition of non-government and philanthropic organisations determined to focus the attention of our politicians and communities on reducing the number of children entering the child protection system.

There are approximately 3,500 children under the age of 10 in SA that have been taken away from their families and are now living in ‘out of home care’.

Something needs to change – governments and communities need to change their approach.

It is for this reason that we are trialling a new innovative approach – a worldwide first for democracy – the People’s Policy Panel on Child Wellbeing.

A panel of 50 South Australians will work closely with experts and non-government organisations such as ours to develop an appropriate policy and community response.
