At its heart, Uniting Communities has always been about people – about walking alongside each other as we navigate life’s challenges, providing the right support at the right time, and empowering one another to shape our own futures.
In this edition, you’ll meet Luke, a former footballer whose journey through recovery and self-discovery shows the power of purpose, patience and hope.
His turning point came with support from our metro New ROADS team.
You’ll also meet:
Kimberley and Ben, who found safety and belonging through our Kurlana Tampawardli program and are now preparing to move into a new home with their baby daughter, Shakiree.
Casey*, a young person whose future was transformed thanks to the teamwork between Ruby’s Reunification Program and the UC Law Centre.
The resilient young people in our FMHSS Connect2 group, finding their voices and community through creativity.
Immaculate, whose story of resilience through our New and Emerging Communities Program reminds us that home is something we build together.
Finally, we celebrate 30 years of Bfriend – one of South Australia’s longest-running LGBTQIA+ support programs – and the incredible generations of volunteers and staff who’ve made connection and belonging possible for thousands of people.
