Young people between 18 and 24 years report the highest levels of feeling lonely, isolated, and left out, compared to any other age group in South Australia. 88% of people aged 18-24 reported feeling lonely ‘often’ or ‘sometimes.’ Despite this, loneliness among young people isn’t talked about enough.

Loneliness refers to the feeling of distress and sadness caused when our social needs are not being met and we desire meaningful social connections in our lives.
