We believe families should thrive, not just survive.

Family by Family helps families who are experiencing hard times, seeking families to connect with families who have been through tough times and come out the other side. The families are supported by Family and Kids coaches, who work with both families to set goals and move towards thriving lives.

Program Information

Our families

We link up families who are struggling with families who have been through tough times and come out the other side. We welcome families of all shapes, sizes and cultures, and from all backgrounds and experiences.

Link-ups

With the support of Family Coaches, Sharing families help Seeking families to set and achieve goals and make positive changes in their lives. The families get to know each other, share stories, plan fun stuff, and celebrate the wins along the way.

Our team

Our Family Coaches, Aboriginal Practice Lead and Kids Coaches support families, helping them stay focused on the change they want to create. They're trained to support the cultural needs of people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities as well as culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Our 'Aboriginal Community Connectors' also help staff and families with cultural support and knowledge.

Co-designed by families, for families

Family by Family was designed by TACSI (The Australian Centre for Social Innovation) in 2011. They worked closely with families to help shape the program. Over the last decade, the program has supported over 2,000 Australian families to make lasting change in their lives.

Uniting Communities runs Family by Family in Adelaide. We work with families of all shapes, sizes and cultures across metropolitan Adelaide.
