Family Mental Health Support Service

Free counselling and information for families concerned about a young person's mental health.

Program Overview

Caring for a young person with mental health issues can be challenging. The Family Mental Health Support Service can help.

We offer free counselling and information to families concerned about a young person aged under 18. Our goal is to help children and families to improve mental health, resilience and confidence.

Specialised counselling for young people and families

We can support young people to increase their knowledge and awareness of mental health issues.

We provide short-term and longer-term one-to-one and family counselling. You can also access information, referrals, group programs and community activities.

We can work with your child, family and their school to build relationships, develop skills to better manage issues and to maintain good mental health.

We strongly encourage parents and everyone in the family to be actively involved. This is the best way for your family to learn new skills and get the most out of the program.

You can access this service if you live in these council areas:

  • Onkaparinga

  • Fleurieu Peninsula

  • Kangaroo Island

  • Alexandrina.
