Get in touch with headspace
We're happy to talk with you about how headspace Mount Gambier may be able to help you.
'talk-soon' program
The 'talk-soon' program provides young people aged 12-25 access to same-day mental health support. This service uses a single-session therapy model and provides young people with tips and strategies to take away from the session to address their specific situation.
Appointments can be held in-person, online or via telephone and are available three-days a week across the Limestone Coast.
eheadspace
eheadspace is our national online and phone support service. You can call if you are aged 12 to 25, or are a family member or friend. You will speak with experienced and qualified youth mental health professionals.
Our web chat and phone support is open from 9am to 1am (AEST), every day of the year. Simply register at www.eheadspace.org.au (for web chat or email support) or call 1800 650 890.
Volunteering
Youth Reference Group (YRG)
The YRG meets monthly. We discuss how headspace Mount Gambier can stay focused on young people and their needs. As a volunteer, you can provide an important perspective on how we operate as a youth friendly service and help us to keep up to date with current trends that are relevant to young people. You can participate in centre clinical meetings, and help us to plan and run events, campaigns and activities.
Social and therapeutic groups
We run regular groups for young people. You don’t need to be a headspace client to participate.
LINK group is an inclusive social group for 18 to 25 year-olds ready to step out of their comfort zone. The group is held fortnightly and alternates between being hosted by headspace and the City of Mount Gambier (Mount Gambier Library or Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre) from 2pm - 4pm on Wednesdays.
Music group is a fun, supportive and engaging group led by musically talented and experienced workers. Musicians of all abilities are invited to develop their musical identity, increase confidence in performing, practice songs and learn songwriting through collaborative music-making.
Neurodiverse group is a group for neurodiverse young people to engage in social skill development and establish relationships through interactive games, activities and social interaction. This group is particularly tailored for young people who live with ADHD and ASD. A diagnosis is not required for group participation.
